GREENS BAYOU PADDLE TRAIL
Vision: To be a recognized model paddle trail providing a variety of quality recreational experiences to paddlers with diverse skills, abilities and time availabilities.
Mission: Greens Bayou Paddle Trail partners are dedicated to improving public access to Greens Bayou on a reach up to 28 miles long, bounded by US 45 and IH10, serving as stewards of the waterway and access sites, and promoting its recreational use.
In 2013, the Greens Bayou Coalition partnered with the National Parks Service to develop the Greens Bayou Paddle Trail Strategic Plan. That plan has been foundational in the development of many regional plans including Bayou Greenways 2020 by the City of Houston and the Houston Parks Board and Harris County. At this time the Houston Parks Board has completed kayak launches at Brock Park, Strickland Park, and Thomas Bell Foster Park. The Greens Bayou Coalition is currently in design for a launch at Bill Crowley Park in partnership with Harris County Precinct 2 and Commissioner Adrian Garcia. The Greens Bayou Paddle Trail is also in review for Texas Recognized Paddling Trail designation by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
