Greens Bayou Coalition will plant 85 trees donated by Trees for Houston on either side of Greens Bayou from Knobcrest Drive at I-45 to Greens Road at Jack Drake Park. Click here to volunteer!

There is a beautiful, wide hike/bike trail that runs along either side of Greens Bayou.  But it is currently unshaded and hot during most of the year, suffering the 'heat island' effect. Greens Bayou Coalition, working with North Houston District, plans to add trees along the trail, all the way to Hardy Road, a total of 281 trees!

Phase One begins at Knobcrest Drive at I-45.  Trees will be planted on both sides of the bayou all the way to Greens Road.  The trees will add shade, help stop erosion, clean the air, bring birds, wildlife, and new flora to the area, add beauty, and cool the trail for walkers and bikers.

An Environmental Grant from H-E-B helps make this phase of the project possible.
