Strickland Park was identified in 2013 as a launch site for the Greens Bayou Paddle Trail Strategic Plan.  The Annual Greens Bayou Regatta runs past this park and launch which is a City of Houston Park.  In 2019 the Houston Parks Board,  through the Bayou Greenways 2020 Bond Inititive for the City of Houston constructed a fully functioning and ADA accessible launch at the site.
